Intellectual Capital Consulting (ICC) works primarily with small-to-medium companies that are growing quickly and that have been spending most of their time serving customers and gaining their share of the market and may not have focused much effort on long-term strategies that will create competitive advantages in a hypercompetitive environment. Whether a firm is looking for a corporate level or a business level strategic review, ICC has developed the tools and the approach to meet the unique needs of fast growing organizations.
ICC takes a resource-based approach to strategy by helping businesses answer
the questions "what are we best at?" Or, "what competitive advantages
do we have that we can exploit in the marketplace?" Easy questions to ask but
they demand a rigorous review to determine genuine core competencies.
Generally, developing strategy involves a challenging 2-day workshop and brainstorming event to uncover:
- Core Values
- Vision
- Mission
- Big Goals
- Core Competencies
After a review of this information, ICC works with the business leaders
to create a one-page plan that contains all of the relevant goals and tactics
for long-term and annual planning. There also is a unit level plan that
cascades the strategies and goals deeper into the company, allowing everyone
to "own" part of the plan.
ICC also will work with an organization on planning and running regular meetings to monitor the plan. If a firm wants to create a balanced scorecard from its plan, a web-based scorecard can be designed that includes financial, sales, human resource and other metrics.
